This session will give you a general introduction to AI across the curriculum, looking at uses in Reading, Writing and Maths. We will then review Science as a focus area for AI. We will then have an in-depth session on prompt engineering. This will develop you a ability to create a desired output. We will then apply our prompt engineering skills to report writing.

During the session you will have a chance to complete a report writing task, applying your learning. We will then focus on using AI for lesson planning in Science. The session will culminate with a Q&A to explore the information outlined in the session.

Join us if  you are interested in fully exploring the impact AI can have on your role and how your classroom as you improve your ability to write prompts for AI and increase your awareness of the benefits of AI and its limitations.

The Session will be led by Junior Walker and Dr Andy Markwick. Junior Walker has 19 years’ experience in education. This includes 13 years working in a Primary setting as Head of Computing and Head of Maths. He has also worked in colleges and pupil referral units. He has mentored multiple trainees and is currently working as a University Supervision Tutor.

Andy Markwick taught in both primary and secondary London schools for more than 38 years. He was an AST for most of this time, focusing on science pedagogy.  He was also in school leadership for 27 years. He now leads the MA level science and Learning and |Teaching modules at the IOE (UCL).
