I applied for registration as validation for all the knowledge and experience I have accumulated over my 12 years of being a technician. I have been meaning to apply for several years but felt daunted at the prospect of completing the form. However, I recently attended a session at a Tech Fest which inspired me to do so now. I actually found the process of gathering evidence and writing the form a very positive experience as it made me realise all that I have achieved. I am very proud to be able to put RSciTech after my name and to feel recognised as a professional in my field. I also believe that it will lead to an increase in profile for the role and hopefully respect for all that is required to be a competent Science Technician.
