The algebra of quantities - how it works and how it could be used in student's chemical calculations.

The algebra of quantities should be used in all scientific calculations. Accordingly, we always take the values of quantities to be the product of a numerical value and a unit, and we manipulate the symbols of quantities, numerical values and units by the ordinary rules of algebra. As most teachers are unlikely to be familiar with the method, this article explains how it works, and how it could be used in typical chemical calculations.
