Wave Wonders

How can I help my students avoid confusion between refraction, reflection and rarefaction

How can I do the ripple tank required practical successfully with my whole class in a darkened room?

How can I bring my teaching of the electromagnetic spectrum to life?

Join us in this session where our facilitator Christina Astin will cover:

  • Modelling properties of waves including sound
  • Light and the electromagnetic spectrum
  • Properties of waves and wave terminology
  • Properties of light, including reflection, refraction and total internal reflection, illustrating each concept with a simulation and/or an experiment from the lab.
  • Electromagnetic waves, their sources, detection, uses and dangers
  • Worked examples from GCSE questions.
  •
